Our forests’ genetic diversity is made of many species, each with many locally adapted populations, unique individuals, and genes. All this diversity helps keep our forests resilient in the face of many pressures, including climate change.

Invasive Species

Effects include:

  • Reduced Growth & Regeneration, Mortality, Extinction
  • Chestnut blight, DED, gypsy moth, Bn Canker, EAB, ALHB, Beech Bark Disease,
  • Sirex wood wasp, garlic mustard, buckthorn, dog strangling vine, earthworms!
