Apply for 2019 Workshops

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) has entered into a 1-year agreement with the FGCA for the 2019 field season to deliver Butternut Health Assessor (BHA) Workshops and BHA Refresher Workshops. A BHA workshop is required for anyone who wishes to be designated by the MNRF under the Endangered Species Act 2007 Regulation 242/08 to assess whether, and the extent which, Butternut trees are affected by Butternut Canker.

Enrolment in the Workshop is at the discretion of the MNRF but generally will be restricted to professional arborists, foresters, forest technicians, dendrologists, horticulturists, botanists, mycologists and plant pathologists.

If you wish to apply for the Butternut Health Assessment Workshop waitlist, complete only one application for the full-day OR refresher application below. Your application will be reviewed within 30 days by the Workshop Coordinator who will advise you whether you have been accepted to the waitlist. The deadline for both workshop formats is March 31, 2019 at 11:45 pm.

More information can be found at www.ontario.ca/page/species-risk or by contacting Doris Krahn, MNRF at doris.krahn@ontario.ca or 705-755-5435.
