The Forest Gene Conservation Association has closed the Butternut Health Assessor (BHA) workshop application system for 2019. We will be communicating only with:
- Those who have been confirmed for the 2019 workshops regarding workshop details, and
- Those who applied before April 30, 2019 and have not heard from us confirming a workshop seat. We will be submitting a BHA waitlist to the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP), in the event that they hold 2020 BHA workshops.
For all others, as of April 1, 2019, the MECP is responsible for administering the Endangered Species Act. Please contact SAROntario@ontario.ca with your questions, concerns, submissions of applications, documents supporting applications, reports and other products required to be formally submitted under the ESA. This also includes all matters pertaining to butternut and the Butternut Health Assessment program.
If you have any questions about FGCA’s independent Butternut Recovery Program, we would be very happy to hear from you. Please contact Heather Zurbrigg (firstname.lastname@example.org) to report tolerant trees, find out about archiving those trees, seed collection and planting of source-identified butternut stock.
